This post is going to be a hodge podge, for this I apologize ahead of time.
I had a real hankering for pancakes and the desire not to be eating them alone...after messaging friends about the "Pancake Party" at my house, there appeared to be more pancakes lovers than I ever suspected. What joy it was to have the house filled with appreciators of this fine delicacy. It was like my own personal little Shrove Tuesday. It's hard to be mad or upset when you have a flap jack in front of you.....everyone has their own style of eating them. Some are stackers, some are not. Some pancakes swim in a sea of syrup, some a little powdered sugar, fruit/no fruit, there are even some savages who eat them bone dry with their fingers. I have seen it with my own eyes.

A few odds and ends left over from my trip:

At the Tate Modern, Shibboleth," a work by sculptor Doris Salcedo, it's a statement about racism. It begins as a hairline crack then widens and deepens as it snakes across the full 548 feet of the gallery's concrete floor. I heard of it, and thought "No way, could it be. No way would the Tate allow that. A huge crack? No." But, they did. Whether you like it or not, if you'd ever been to the Tate before, it's pretty dumbfounding to see it now with the crack. It's huge, and it's deep...and it's permanent. Even after they fill it back up with concrete, the scar will remain....which is sort of the point, really.

A little glimpse into the gallery showing of David Shrigley, a cartoonist I like. Actually a friend introduced me to his animations earlier in the year. Shrigley's warped sensibilities resonate within my own little warped mind and soul.

This cow kept calling out to me everyday during my country walks. Perhaps she recognized me as having eaten a friend of hers.

Greenwich, where time begins....and where my best friend and I met a lady who makes the most adorable animated lampshades.

I'm not quite sure where I would put them, but I want one or a couple. I especially relate to the falling monkey.

Daisy, feeling little miffed, because I was getting all of the attention. Don't worry though, she got plenty later that day.
