Last night I went to a party where everyone was at least 20-40 years older than me, and I brought a lemon strawberry cheesecake, because it's not a party without one.
I had a fantastic time. I had a conversation with a blind woman about the intricacies of adjusting to blindness in your thirties. I had a conversation with a woman who had the same kind of tumor my sister had, and she said it took her at least five years to feel normal again. I talked to a 68 year old man who bought a hedgehog as a pet, just because he could. Apparently, they make really good pets.
I've never been a Viking at socializing, so I consider it a little achievement that I could go, only knowing two people there, and have a great time.
Today, I'm going to play Trivial Pursuit with the recently brain-surgered. I think I have a good chance of winning.
