I've decided I'm going to marry myself, and not in the creepy Dennis Rodman way. I just want to make sweet sweet love to myself in a legally binding union. This is what I did:
First I baked the potatoes, then riced them, let it cool for a bit then mixed in eggs, nutmeg, chopped basil and a bit of milk and flour. I rolled it, shaped it and set it aside. Fresh gnocchi.
As if that weren't enough, next I thinly sliced one onion and carmelized it in butter with a bit of nutmeg. Then I added chopped prosciutto and fresh sage, and let it sizzle for a few minutes. I added vodka and fresh organic cream, and let it simmer until thickened.
While the sauce cooked down, I boiled the gnocchi, then tossed it into the sauce. It is officially the most delicious thing I've ever made, and it goes beautifully with this New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.
