so this weekend was kinda shitty but great at the same time. beths grandmother died last week and this weekend was her funeral. so i took off work on friday and we (me,beth, and her dog vincent) went to traverse city.
the drive up there was fun. we just listen to music and talked. we stopped aboout half way up there to get some food. we went to a taco bell in the middle of nowhere and it was HILARIOUS. the people where all looking at me like i just came out of a space ship. good times. once we got to TC we checked into our motel. it was so funny. the hotel was a dump. it was like one room with a bed and a tiny bathroom. not even a phone or a clock in the room. after that we went to the wake and i got to meet alot of beths family. it was HUGE. i am not used to being around a big family like that. they were all really nice and my heart went out to them in their time of loss. after the wake we went to beths aunts house for some drinks. then me and beth left her aunts house, grabbed some beers and some chips and went back to the shitty motel.
saturday we went to the actual funeral of her grandmother. it was really sad. he uncle gave an amazing eulogy (i spelled that SO wrong). it was so sweet and sincere that i almost started crying and i didnt even know her grandma. after the funeral the church had a nice little lunchin. nothing there for a vegan to eat of course. so beth and i hung out there for a bit then left to get a new hotel room and some food. we got some great mexian at some local place and went searching for a hotel. we decided to slurge and get a hotel room with a jacuzzi in it. after we got the hotel we went back to beths aunts house. had drinks with the fam and just hung out for a few hours. played some dominos, hung out. good times. after her aunts me and beth went and got some sushi and thai food. then we grabbed some beers and went to the hotel. we fired up the jacuzzi and just relaxed with a few beers and watched some from the jacuzzi.
sunday we woke up and watched my big fat greek wedding before checking out of the hotel. that movie was SO good. then we swung by her aunts house and said good bye to everyone and home we went.
when we got home we showered and changed and got read for dinner. it was beths birthday and i was taking her out. i made reservations at The Whitney and that is where we went for her bday dinner. it was SO nice. we where all dressed up fancy like. got valet parking, and ate an exquisit dinner. neither of us have ever been there before it was so romantic and beautiful inside. they were very accomidating to my veganism. when i made the reservations i told them i need a nondairy, egg free, vegitarian meal. they said no problem. then when we got there, i got to tell our waiter and he goes "sir, i already know. you will be taken care of"!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was great. and not lame ass shitty stuff. the chef made special food just for ME!!! well for a $165 dinner it was worth it. after dinner we went to the WAB for some drinks with beths co workers. good times $1.50 mixed drinks.
so thats about it. good times. beth is simply amazing. everythign just keeps getting better and better with her everyday.
