Ok, so. I went to the local sporting goods depot to buy some new sports shoes. As I meandered through the place I decided to take a look at the skates. A friend of mine, myself and my beau have recently been reminising about roller (not inline, but the four wheelers) skating and how we needed to buy some tennis shoe skates so that we could hot rod around NYC next spring. The plan is to practice in either the basement or the garage once it snows. Anyhow, I went to the skating dept., expecting to find only inline skates, when lo and behold...the motherload of ugly tennis shoe roller skates. Not only did they have them, but they were on CLEARANCE... for $5!!!
Unfortunately, they had only childrens sizes, but they had one... ONE PAIR of skates that fit my little tootsies. I couldn't fill up for my pals, but I got my set. So I not only was able to fulfill a wish to return to my childhood at the Golden Skate, but I was also able to act somwhat selfishly, something that I've been meaning to start practicing also.
Yay me!
