If you don't mind me asking, how much did you get stung for duty when you had your bass shipped over? I almost bought a bass from the US before, but decided to back out because I thought the duty would be rather hefty.
I have a bit of a love/hate thing going on with Barfly. They're usually well equipped (soundguy, decent monitors, mics and good sized stage) to play, but I hate the type of audiences they attract - indie hipsters, generally. Plus, I think they never know what to think of my band. No one knows what sound we have, which is good, but can be incredibly difficult in terms of knowing who and where to play to.
