Argh! Italian bureaucracy!

RANT ALERT!

Red fucking tape!

It's the big Milan derby later this month, AC Milan Vs Inter. One of the great games of World football. I've been to the stadium several times, however, I've always been lucky enough to be invited as a guest into corporate hospitality. That luck doesn't happen for this type of game. So I want to buy tickets, but they don't go on general sale until 12th Jan. That's cool, but as I want to take one of my best friends who is visiting I thought I want to guarantee tickets, so I look into ways to do this...

In principle it should be easy. Bring a photo, some ID to a bank that sells tickets and become a supporters member.

Oh no, not so simple. I tried three branches that sell tickets. The first said it wasn't possible as I have an Irish passport. The second said yes but their scanner was broken. The third said yes...until he saw my passport doesn't have an address (Irish ones don't!) So I have to go back tomorrow with something different.

That on top of trying to get a mobile phone, going through all the paper work - then to be told ah, I can't process it because your ID isn't Italian...but I'm FUCKING Irish, which is still part of the EU you waste of ejaculation! So apparently - according to this man, unless you're Italian you can't get a mobile phone through his branch/mobile phone provider. Sometimes I think they just make rules up... When I asked why that's the case despite being a resident in Milan, being an EU citizen, having an Italian fiscal code his reason was, 'it's the anti-trust law' I disputed this, then he said 'Oh no, I think it's the anti-terrorism law!'

Argh! Oxygen thief.

I don't miss much about the UK (apart from salt and vinegar crisps!) but the lack of red tape is a blessing!

Rant over...
