Well, It's a Saturday night, I feel I should be out...it's a bank holiday weekend though so I am saving myself for the last day of the footy season tomorrow and a gig. There's a fair few bands playing a new venue and I'll be checking them out.

Primal Scream still have it. Mani's cheekiness, Bobby's razor sharp cheekbones, the cool tunes from 'Moving on up' to 'Swastika eyes' via 'Jailbird' 'Rocks' and 'Burning Wheel' They reeled out these classics but most of the set was new stuff. The song (not introduced so alas I don't know the name) after Jailbird was great. Deep, brooding bass, guitar atmospherics and a lot of intensity. At times though the band did seem to be playing a lot of mediocre and under-developed stuff (due to the loss of Kevin Sheilds?)
A lot of the new stuff is in the mold of The 'Give out' era cock-rock. Not to everyones liking, I think I'll have to listen to it on CD before I pass judement!
