Weathering the Storm
Standing in a storm of thoughts,
amid the torent of doubt and confusion.
I look beyond the pouring rain,
to see if you still stand there.
Long have I lay and wonder,
on how long this rain will last.
Each drop hits like a falling tree,
one quickly followed by another.
Should I walk to where I think you are,
or trust that you might find me.
The storm winds block out all sound,
and I'm left wondering where you are.
Logic tells me to seek shelter,
to escape this long, cold storm.
But that means that I leave you here,
and you might face this storm alone.
So I endure; weathering through it all,
my body bare against the cold wind.
Within me my soul keeps me warm,
with hope that I might find you again
