I've placed the cover for Love As A Foreign Language #3 up here, on the Bendis Board Charity Auction. There are lots of items going on up there, and they're all going towards relief for Hurricane Katrina.

This my first time contributing to something like this, and I'd like to promote the Auction as much as possible amongst the comic community. So if...

Salt and enough water to make dough

METHOD:

Knead the wheat flour, salt and water to make dough.
Let the dough stand for half hour.
Take small portions, knead again, dust with flour and roll out into a round shape.

You can add many things to the dough

and a recipe for curry goat.......

Curry Goat Ingredients
2 lb goat or mutton, in 1 cubes
2 large tomato, chopped
1 scallion, with top, minced
1 scotch bonnet chile, minced
1 salt & pepper, to taste
1/4 cup oil, for frying
1 garlic clove, minced
2 medium onion, chopped
1 shallot, minced
3 tbsp madras-type curry powder
2 tbsp butter
2 1/2 cup ; water

Curry Goat Directions
Place the meat in a large bowl and add the garlic, tomatoes, onions,
scallion, shallot, chile, curry powder, salt and pepper. Mix them
together well and allow the meat to marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Heat the butter and oil in a large skillet. Remove the meat from the
marinade, reserving the marinade, and brown the cubes in the skillet.
Add the marinade, then the water. Cover and cook over medium heat for
1 1/4 hours, or until the meat is tender. Taste for seasoning and
serve over white rice.

"Crom!

"I have never prayed to you before...I have no tongue for it.

"No one...not even you will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, or why we died. No...all that matters is that two stood against many. That's what's important.

"Power pleases you...so grant me one request. Grant me revenge!

"And if you do not listen...then the hell with you!"...

"I don't think. I just react."

For a while I was hooked religiously on Monster Garage. I was living in a place where I couldn't afford cable (technically I still can't, but it's complicated, and I'd rather talk about this) and downloaded every single episode to feed my mind.

Talk about simple setup. Computer blares Monster Garage, I do work. It was completely Pavlovian.

The...

I'm playing favourites today, so don't hold it against me. Mwa ha ha!

What is it about glasses that makes people just so awesome?

Is it because they frame the eyes, help bring out the notion that perhaps this or that person perceives more than your average joe? Does it have something to do with just communicating an idea like, "I really mean this," or...

There was a thread asking to share something beautiful. This was too long for a contribution, and if it is found beautiful by all, I'd much rather share it with everyone...so here goes:

I read a lot of comics, but this passage here is by far my favourite. It's taken from V for Vendetta, by Alan Moore and David Lloyd. I transcribe this here...

I'm a fucking moron. I hadn't seen any footage of the disaster until right now.

This is the worst thing I've ever seen...and now the Zangief thing doesn't seem so funny anymore.
darke:
Good book. Alan's writing is second to none.
darke:
yeah, I noticed it was suddenly vanished.

And the new rule is this:

Absolutely...positively...no more than two hours on this thing. At first I thought it was the chat that was addictive, now I think it's the message boards...it's all not true! I just have idle hands and I love talking! Arrrrrgh!

Deadline approaches
Fear tickles my spine
editor's wrath
balls busted

Now I really gotta go!

To recap, I'm drawing a romance comic. This is a romantic comedy, much in the vein of...I dunno. Some romantic comedy.

Originally I chose this project to a)excorcise some demons and confront some fears about love, relationships and the opposite sex, and b)to actually do a project that I can show teenagers that don't like violence, sex or drugs. Or sci-fi.

Today I got through...

There's a new pic folder in my...pics, I guess. It's an insightful look into how I truly work when I'm at a convention. Please note the uneaten food, the cigarettes, and numerous caffeinated beverages to my left (all donations, strangely!). Enjoy!

Man that sandwich, or whatever's in the foil, looks tasty. And I can't see through foil!

You've got some great fingers, man. Ever played piano? The drawing you're working on looks cool too.
