Just when I thought I couldn't get shit on enough......

So my car broke down just outside of Truckee CA on my way home from Burningman (okay, so it's been a few weeks and I'm just now posting this here). I pulled off on the side of the freeway to let my car rest for a minute. I tried to start it after a little while. Well, the engine turns over but there is no "go" to the car. Hmmmm. Okay, whatever. I decide to call for a tow truck. I start with the city of Truckee. The first company I call doesn't answer the phone at first. I try again. After 10 or more rings they answer (sounding like I put them out. they are a tow company after all right?) I ask "how much to tow my car from Truckee to Sacramento?" He tells me it'll be around $500-600 dollars. I tell him thank you and have a good night. He hangs up without any other comments.

After a bit of time I decide that maybe I'll just have it towed to Truckee. I call him back. He tells me he has no one available and hangs up without saying sorry, good-bye, good night or anything. Fucking prick!! I start calling other tow companies in Truckee. All of them tell me I need to call Reno instead. Okay then, I do just that. Heh, well everyone in Reno tells me I need to call someone in Truckee. WHAT THE FUCK?!?! Who runs a tow company but does not want to tow anyone?

I finally get someone in Reno to agree to send someone out. Great!! It's about time. The lady on the phone was very nice too, I might add. About 30-45 minutes go by and I'm starting to wonder where this tow truck is. We (I had a couple of friends with me, and it's a good thing I did) get a call back. The lady from the tow company is very apologetic in telling us that they are backed up and cannot get anyone to us for SEVERAL hours. She gives me a number for another tow company. I call them. This dude tells me to call someone else. WHAT IS FUCKING WRONG WITH THESE FUCKING PEOPLE?!?!?!?! Sooooooo......I call this number he gave me. It's an 800 number. There is a recording saying, "I'm sorry, this number is not being answered at this time. Please try your call later."

AARG!! I'm starting to lose my fucking mind with frustration!!

Okay then.......just breath.

I decide that we should just put tents and camp stuff from my friends car in with my camp gear to make enough room for all 3 of us. We'll drive back to Sacramento and I'll return the next day to retrieve my car.

Well, since I've been in the desert for the last 3 weeks and did not get paid for it (I was under the impression that I was going to get paid for working for the commissary) I'm broke as hell, and so I work a day at Sub-Q (which was slooooooooow as hell that day) thinking at least I'll make some tip money. Heh, figgures, no customers.

I call around to several different friends asking for help locating a trailer and truck. Plenty of trucks around but no one has a trailer for towing cars.

I decide to rent a car dolly from Uhaul (who, by the way were friendly and helpful.....unlike most of the tow companies around Truckee and Reno). I have just enough money to cover the rental, $60.00. Cool, I'm on my way to getting my car back.

I borrow a van from a friend and another friend joins me for the ride (and to help put the car on the car dolly. I love my friends very much. y'all fucking RAWK!!!!).

On the way up we get titties flashed at us from a passing vehicle on the freeway, she was fucking cute and had great tits. NICE!! At least something good has occured this day. The day was looking better. Thank you random flasher lady!!

We get up to where I parked my car..............and MY FUCKING CAR IS GONE!!!!

We go into Truckee (fucking Truckee again) to see what has become of my car. I find out it was towed by the CHP. Great!! Just what I fucking need.

I couldn't get a tow when I wanted one, but get one when I don't want one!

I call CHP and they direct me to the company that had towed my car and stored it. I get ahold of said tow company and find out where they are. I get to where the lady on the phone said their office was.She tells me she'll send someone down and I'll have to wait untill someone shows up to help (place is closed in the middle of the day, kinda funny). Dude shows up and we do some paperwork. He tells me it's gonna cost me $317.00 to get my car back. I ask him (and I'm sure I sound irritated) why the bill is this ugly. He says that it's $240 for the tow and $75 for a day of storage.

If there IS a god I'm gonna kick it in the fucking crotch!! This shit is just not funny!!

I have to overdraw my account to pay for it. Great, now I have to pay an additional $25 overdraft charge for that (and also for renting the trailer from Uhaul because I spent the money I had on gas getting there and back and all the other driving in between).

Gas......THAT is another rant.

I get the paperwork done and the guy tells me we have to drive somewhere else to retrieve my car. Fuck!! Hey at least this guy was pretty cool, I have to say. He knew I was frustrated and was very polite (this company is called "Dependable". I wish I would've know about them before. at leasts they were nice and were there to help when needed).

We get to where my car is being stored and the guy helps us push the car out to the street so we can get it on the dolly. He physically pushed it, not just with his truck (he didn't have to do this but again he was a pretty good guy). He helps us get the car on the dolly by showing us a cool trick. My car is rear wheel drive so he said to put it in gear, set the e-brake and just back the trailer up untill the car is all the way up into the wheel locks. It fucking worked great and we didn't have to try to push the damned thing up on there. We locked in the front wheels and were off. So far so good, I got my car back. Gonna have a real hard time paying my rent now.

We get my car back home in one piece and at least the drive back to Sacramento was smoth and uneventfull.

I do not know what my point is in posting this, other than to rant and get it out for others to read.
