Out last night and talking to a rather gorgeous girl, who I'd noticed when I first walked into the club.
This is good for me, because generally I don't interact with the humans - . what with the brain of software and philosophy my social skills are, well, the polite to describe them is 'differently abled'*. Anyway, part of my continued rehabilitation is actually conversing with strangers, and if of a female persuasion, then all the better.
So ... talking, some similar tastes in music, all is good, I am like this social business isn't all that hard, then she reveals she is 17! I backed away slowly, smiling politely and maitaining eye contact.
As my friend Tommy just said, 'Dude, she could have been be your daughter!!'
Hopefully not quite ... but fuck.
* It's not that I don't have social skills, it's just well, hard to explain ... I am more of a pertformer than a conversationalist, prone to long-winded rants about Plato or music produced by obscure french-candian socialist collectives, rather than all, 'how are you' and shit.
