Damn, it's madness out there. The BP station down the street is up to $2.99 per gallon of regular. Wyspurr went to fill up and ended up paying $35 to fill up. While she was there, some guy was preaching about how Katrina was God punishing New Orleans for Mardi Gras while people were practically running over each other jockeying for pumps. It wasn't even safe to be a pedestrian, as I found out when I wandered down to take a few pictures of the dozens of cars competing for their place at the trough. Drivers had no qualm about driving on the sidewalks to get a better position.
