Florida Vacation, Day 3
We woke Monday morning to Lita's son watching cartoons, as Wyspurr and I were sleeping on the futon in the livingroom. It was the first time I'd seen the tyke since he was but a year old. He's grown so much but he's still a darling. It made me happy that he remembered us even after all this time.
Lita made us crapes and pancakes for breakfast. It was good. I dig pancakes. Then we just sort of hung around the house a while until Brenda came over. Then we hung around a bit more just chatting until the lot of us decided to go to the park, where we goofed around until Brenda had to leave for work and so we returned to the house.
After bidding Brenda farewell, the rest of us wandered to the main stretch of town and stopped into Rubyjuice. The chick that rang me up forgot to put my stuffed mozzarella pretzel in the oven, so after about five or ten minutes I checked in and the manager put it in and gave me a coupon for a free smoothie. Too bad I'm not terribly fond of smoothies, but I'm determined to go back there before we leave Florida to claim my free one.
After that, we walked down to the waterfront where there were way too many people for my liking milling about doing nothing in particular. We didn't stay long, though, and it was nice to take in the sites and enjoy the humor that was the Chic Tract someone handed us.
After coming back to Lita's, Wyspurr and I popped out to the Winn-Dixie for steaks and other dinner stuff. That was yummy. One of Lita's friend came over and we had a nifty time just hanging around. We stayed up way too late for their good, but it was a fun time and well worth it from my not having anywhere to be the next day perspective. Eventually all good things come to an end, though, and we all crashed out in our respective spaces.
Florida Vacation, Day 4
Today Lita was off at work and her son at daycare, so it was Brenda who woke Wyspurr and I up. I was certainly not expecting to see her so early in the morn so it was a nice surprise. I'd been greatly looking forward to seeing her again. She had a number of hours to hang out before work and that's what she did. Save for running a very brief errand for Lita, we just chilled at Lita's place, talked, and made a very nice snugglepile on the couch.
Wyspurr and I really like Brenda. I've been talking to her online long enough to know she was probably very likable, but I never really believe in people until I get to know them in person. With her, I've been delighted to find she's pretty much what I expected, and that's someone I'm very fond of. I wish that the time we're going to have to spend together didn't have to be so limited.
After she left, Wyspurr and I went to see Batman Begins at the theater. I love that Wyspurr enjoys and appreciates most of the movies I like, but I was really surprised to see her apparantly profoundly moved by the movie (I'd already seen it once before). Not to say that's a bad thing. I guess I'm still not used to having a lifemate who can find philosophical inspiration in the same oddball places I get half of mine from.
After the movie, we grabbed a bite to eat from the grocery store and went back to Lita's where Wyspurr did her homework and I chit-chatted with Lita for a while until we snuggled on the futon a bit and watched some show about antiques 'til she went to bed.
So, here I am, caught up on recording my vacation so far. I wish I had more profound things to say about this trip, but for the most part I've just been really enjoying the time away from having to think hard about anything. There's nothing particularly pressing on my mind, save for the hope that Brenda's off work tomorrow so that I can have maximum time with her before going back to Inverness to fetch the kids and bring them back here.
