Florida Vacation, Day 2
Sunday started out with a nice breakfast, then Mom and Jim taking us out on the lake in their boat. It was the kids first time on a boat and they had a blast. It was kind of fun for us too, though I wasn't able to enjoy it too much as I was rather busy tending Rachael while Wyspurr was occupied with her sunning.
After out afternoon out on the boat, Wyspurr and I took the kids to the park for a little bit. We let them play on the playground for a while, but not too long as it was really hot and we wanted to get back to Mom's for dinner.
Dinner consisted of fried shrimp, corn on the cob, salad, and wild rice with mushrooms. Quite delicious. I love eating at my mother's house. She is such an awesome cook.
After dinner, Wyspurr did her homework before we could leave to visit Lita, which set us way behind. We got a really late start heading her way which wasn't helped by our impulse to stop into the X-Mart super porn store. It was a neat place and I ended up buying a handful of buttons.
An hour and fifteen minutes after leaving the porn store we arrived at Lita's house. She wasn't home, though, so we got directions to Brenda's work from Ben and popped in on her. It was nice to finally meet her. She was almost exactly what I expected. We didn't stay long, though, as Lita called and we headed back to her place quick as we could.
Then at last, after years, we finally saw Lita again. She is still every bit as lovably amazing as she's ever been and quite a bit more grounded than she was when she was staying with us those years ago. We stayed up 'til four in the morning catching up on life and such while knocking back some drinks.
Eventually, though, sleep had to be had and Lita went to bed. Wyspurr and I had a great scrog on her way comfy and blessedly not terribly squeaky futon. All was good in the world.
