Florida Vacation, Day 1
Wyspurr and I got a very late start on our adventure to Florida. We'd intended to leave early Friday evening, but due to circumstances pretty much beyond our control we didn't leave until this morning around half past ten. That sadly meant we had to cut our visit to Laputa out of the picture, which was very disappointing. We arrived in Inverness around five in the evening. Six and a half hours isn't too bad, especially considering we were taking our time. The drive down was pleasant and uneventful. There were a few stops here and there for gas and snacks, as well a visit to the Florida visitors center. That was Wyspurr's thing. Boring as hell, save for the fact that we found a really cool dead moth. We took it with us.
At any rate, we're enjoying ourselves so far. With the kids excited to see Mom and Jim, Wyspurr and I were able to enjoy some peace. Mom made us a really nice dinner of filet mignon, grilled shrimp, green beans, and baked potatos. My mother is a bitchin' good cook. Wyspurr is always in awe of how we eat when we visit my mother, but I was raised on the kinds of meals people pay twenty bucks a plate for in resturants. It was practically worth the trip just for the meal.
Anyway, Wyspurr is already asleep and I'm kind of tired myself. There's nothing too exciting to talk about. It's just been really relaxing. Tomorrow, though, we should be going out on the boat and then Wyspurr and I will be heading over to see Lita.
