Odds and Ends

So, Wyspurr and I went to the Corndogorama opening thing at the Earl last night. A number of the SGATLiens were out and Wyspurr's favorite locally based band, Envie, were playing. Wyspurr got a little sloshed. We had a lot of fun and it really brought down my stress levels. Come to think of it, it's been a long while since I've been out among friends. Maybe that's why I've been feeling off balance lately with the whole work versus play ratio being completely out of whack.

I really, really need to get off my ass with Roth & Earl. It's been about five weeks since we've had an update. I've had the art for the next strip sitting in my inbox the whole time, I've just been too lazy to letter and post it. It's not like it would take me long to do. It's like I have some sort of weird mental block.

In other news, having our apartment to ourselves was great while it lasted, but it looks like we may be picking up another stray here in the near future. katfireblade asked us if BigBlack81 could crash at our place for a couple of weeks while he got back on his feet. I'm not thrilled at the prospect, but I won't leave a friend out in the cold, neither literally nor metaphorically. As long as it's short term, it isn't a big deal.

I can't wait for our trip to Florida. Spending a week away from home will be nice. It's been so damned long since I've seen Lita and I can't wait to meet Brenda in person. I'm hoping to get some interesting wildlife pics at my mom's place in Inverness. There are some neat birds around there and I'm hoping to get a few alligator photos since she saw a seven footer the other day. I need to rent a wildlife video on gators to show the kids and have a talk with them about not going near the water so they don't get gobbled up.
