Rules of the Sensual Hedonism Group, Rough Draft 1
Okay...I've written some basic rules for the Sensual Hedonism group...these are just my rough ideas and will no doubt undergo some revision based upon the input of others. I'm posting them here to give everyone a chance to be a part of that input. What have I missed? What have I been too vague about? Let me know, even if you're not interested in the group itself...all perspectives are valuable. I plan to have everyone who comes to a gathering sign off on the rules each time they attend, so I want them to be as comprehensive as possible.
Rule of Age - Obviously, no one under the age of 18 is allowed at a gathering.
Rule of Comfort - One must not overwhelm another with one's attentions. Do not be overeager. Do not be clingy. Do not be territorial. All of these things are quick to make others uncomfortable. Do not be a creep. Do not make people uncomfortable.
Rule of Consent - By joining into a gathering of the group, one is consenting to being touched in intimate ways by others in the group. Any contact that doesn't break the Rule of Penetration or the Rule of Pain is assumed to be acceptable. If, for some reason, one becomes uncomfortable being touched...whether it be in a specific way, by a specific person, or just being touched at all...then it is one's responsibility to communicate what is making one uncomfortable. At that point, the person who is making one uncomfortable is required to stop what he or she is doing that is making one uncomfortable.
Rule of Intoxication - While alcohol and smoking will be allowed at gatherings, other drugs are not allowed at the gatherings. This is more of a legal concern than a judgement of others habits. Do what you want...just don't bring it to the gathering space. Also, it is one's responsibility to know one's limits. It's okay to drink a little to lighten up, but do not get shitfaced. It's unbecoming, it creates problems, and no one wants to have to babysit someone who has had too much to drink. Attendance at a gathering means that you affirm that you are enough of an adult to take care of yourself and be responsible for your own actions.
Rule of Pain - Not everyone enjoys pain, so causing pain is prohibited except where the subject of the pain has openly and explicitly consented to recieving pain.
Rule of Penetration - Nothing goes into anything. This doesn't just mean no sex. It doesn't matter if it's a pinky toe going into someone's nostril, if the act can be described as "entering", it is prohibited.

this will never work.
whats the point?
stuff like this goes on all the time. it wont always work perfectly but i think it can. you just have to be willing to be strong in your convictions and handle people.
