Since not many people asked me anything here on SG, I've decided to post all the questions I was asked (and subsequently answered) in my LiveJournal to here so people can learn more about me than they'd ever, ever considered wanting to know. Some of the questions were pretty lame, but there are definitely some jems (The one about my nastiest sexual experience is not for the weak of stomach).
1. Is there anything that you cannot see yourself living without in your life?
Friends, family, and sex.
2. Do you believe in giving second chances?
Yep.
3. If you could go out in public naked, would you?
No...I'm rather self-conscious about being naked around strangers.
4. If you could, would you live underwater or out in space? (I think I know the answer to this, but I want to see if I'm right)
It depends...if I got to bring friends and family then I'd want to live in space. If I had to live alone, I'd live underwater where there are sea creatures to molest...er...I mean use for companionship.
5. Is there anything that you could sit and watch for hours on end?
Not really.
1. How do you want to die, and what do you want done with your body/possessions?
I'd like to be blown to bits...then people should take the leftover bits, toss them into a Glad bag, and put them out with the trash.
2. When is the last time you got completely drenched in the rain, and enjoyed it?
You know, it's been so long I can't remember.
3. Would you rather lose three fingers off of each hand, or all the fingers from your off-hand?
All the fingers of my off-hand. I don't think only having two fingers in each hand would leave either hand very useful.
4. If I asked you to have sex and the only answers you could give were "yes" or "no", would that answer be the same as the answer to this question?
Yes.
5. You get to eat a magic pill that allows you native ability in reading, writing, and speaking any language. Which language do you pick, and why?
Probably Spanish, since that's the language I most often encounter in my day to day life.
First a random question: if you had the opprtunity to swap lives with anybody who has ever lived, who would it be?
I don't know...I kind of like being me. Other people have facets in their lives that I wish I had...better looks, better education, fortune...but I've never met anyone that I'd say I'd give up my life to live theirs.
Second, a personal question: How big is your penis? And does it really matter?
I haven't actually measured since I was like 9 years old, so I don't have an actual statistic to give, but a guesstimation is slightly over 6 inches long and wider than the width of a full sized Zippo lighter. So...fairly average. As for whether it matters...well, it is a significant factor but not the be all end all.
Third, a dirty question: what is the nastiest sex you've ever had? (situation or act)
Ugh...why'd you have to make me think of this? This chick was the reason for the first time I swore off strippers. She didn't have anywhere to go so I let her stay with me. She wasn't attractive and had a grating personality so I wasn't interested in her at all sexually despite the fact I hadn't been laid in months, but I'm a sucker for helping people out and so I let her crash with me. I was living in a hotel at the time, so I didn't really have a choice but to let her share my bed. Anyway, the next thing I know she's all over me won't leave me alone. Pester, pester, pester, pester. Christ, why can't anyone I like ever show so much enthusiasm for getting in my pants? Eventually I'm like fuck it, let's do this thing so I can get some fucking sleep.
Worst sex ever. She'd given birth like three months prior so she was loose and lactating and on top of that she was doing some heavy flow menstruating. The cherry on top of this repulsive sexual sundae was having the honor of removing her tampon for her. It was also the first time I went down on a mentruating woman, as I had to do something to keep her busy while I tried really hard to think of anything that would bring my comatose penis to life in this highly unarrousing situation. Eventually through sheer force of will I managed to get to half-mast...enough to get down to the sloppiest, grossest, least pleasurable fucking I can imagine...ugh...if that didn't turn me gay, nothing will. After about twenty minutes of that I decided to hell with it and faked an orgasm. As soon as I pulled out I pulled off the condom, tossed it in the trash, put in a new tampon for her, and went to sleep. This repeated every night for about a week until she'd drained me of all my money (I ended up having to feed her and such) and she just disappeared never to be heard from again. She left me a little gift, though...head lice...though all things considered I should consider myself lucky that that was the worst thing I got from her.
That was Sarah...relationship #5. *smirk*
Fourth, an esoteric question: spoon or fork?
"Spoon!" - The Tick
Fifth, a philisophical question: Who is your favorite philosopher and why? And do you actively try to follow that philosophy?
Jimmy Buffett, 'cause he's not trying to figure out the greater meaning of the universe, but rather how to make the most of living in it. I certainly try to live by that.
1. Boxers or briefs?
If I'm wearing them under clothes, briefs. If I plan on wearing them without clothes then boxers.
2. Sexual fantasy you've been able to make reality?
Well, I've had the traditional threesomes, foursomes, and orgies. Most of my sexual fantasies involve group sex...anything else generally involves specific people.
3. Oral sex: Is it better to give than to recieve?
For me, it's better to give as eating pussy is easily on my ten favorite things about being alive list, but I don't really enjoy recieving too much. I mean, I enjoy it, but since when recieving head I'm not really actively doing much so my ADHD addled brain wanders off to other things and next thing I know I'm completely off somewhere else mentally. For me to get much out of recieving fellatio I have to be really in the turned on beyond belief zone.
4. Favorite body part on a woman?
That's really tough, but I'm going to say their lips...kissing is one of the best parts of being intimate with a woman. I know from experience that sex without kissing is less satisfying to me than kissing without sex.
5. Coke or Pepsi?
Coke, by a long shot. I loathe Pepsi.
How tall are you?
5'8"
Are you still considering a haircut? Don't!
No, I've made up my mind to keep the hair for now.
What subject in school did you have the hardest time with?
Geography
What are your ten favorite bands/musicians and the best song that each of them has done?
Wha? That's like 20 questions in one. No fair. Well, that's a hard task but here's a try in no particular order. Oh, instead of best song, I'm going with my favorite songs...which isn't exactly the same thing.
Savatage "Morphine Child"
Tori Amos "Tear In Your Hand"
Cruxshadows "Winter Born"
Live "Pain Lies On The Riverside"
Paradise Lost "Pray Nightfall"
Moonspell "Butterfly Effect"
Warrior Soul "Raised On Riots"
Sentenced "Fragile"
Tool "Forty-Six & 2"
Corporate Avenger "Christians Murdered Indians"
What instruments can you play?
None, really...but I'm trying to relearn electric bass.
1.) How many partners (casual or serious) are too many?
I can't imagine any number I could answer that with that wouldn't be arbitrary. Every relationship, casual or serious, is different. Sometimes casual partners can be higher maintanence than serious partners. Some partners will have a lot of their needs met by someone else who is a primary partner to them. That's the neat thing about being polyamorous...there are so many possible ways people can fit together that it's hard to really see an upper-limit that would apply to everyone.
2.) What happens when we die?
If I knew that I'd probably sleep better at night. Pondering my mortality is one of the big subjects that threatens my sanity.
3.) What is your favorite kind of weather?
A cool, slightly windy autumn day or a warm spring shower at night. Then there are those occasional moods where a torrential Summer downpour gives me ecstasy.
4.) Is there a favorite song that causes you both great pride and great shame (meaning it pains you to admit it, but you enjoy listening to it)?
Both pride and shame? Hrm...I don't really feel shame about my music. I'm primarily a progressive metalhead, but I have no qualms admitting that I bought Vanilla Ice's tape not once, not twice, but three times when I was a teen. I'm a huge Jimmy Buffett fan. I saw Conway Twitty in concert prior to his death. I freely admit that while I hate Britney Spears as a human being I like some of her songs. I know no shame musically...it's what gives me license to mercilessly mock people about their musical tastes.
5.) Which celebrity would you most love to photograph?
Oooo...that's a damned good question. I've never really thought about that...hrm...it's a really tough call but I'm going to say Liz Phair. She's animalistically sexy as hell.
What inspires you?
Women and music.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Honestly, it's hard to see myself anywhere in ten years.
At what age did you begin contemplating religion?
The earliest I can remember thinking about it was when I was 8 and spending a lot of time around my very Christian aunt and uncle.
What are the most important qualities that you seek in those you keep close to you?
Passionate, honest, and loyal.
What qualities or behaviors do you wish to change about yourself?
Easily...the way that I have a hard time getting motivated and am easily discouraged.
1. What makes you happy?
The love and laughter of my children. The comraderie of good friends. A rousing table-top roleplaying session with people who aren't idiots. Cuddle piles, naked cuddle piles, and orgies. Getting any significant amount of writing done. Making love. Powerful live music perfomances. Good hugs that last for more than a single breath. Pretty much anything involving people I like, but especially if it involves alcohol, sex, music and/or roleplaying games.
2. What mental image makes you laugh whenever you think of it?
When I was in high school, I was so in love with this girl that graduated the year before me. Unrequited, of course. Anyway, she was visiting the school one day during my senior year and I was walking to the gym when I noticed her. She waved at me, and I waved back...as I walked square into a pole. Oh, I was mortified at the time, as back then I had such crippling social anxiety that there was actually a couple of people that went to school with me for two years that thought I was a mute, but when I think about it now it always cracks me up.
3. Turnabout being fair play, what books have inspired you the most in your life?
Easy...Javan's poetry formed the very foundation of my basic ideas of what love and relationships are about. Sadly, reading poetry in my room while all the other 13 year olds were out being jocks probably goes a long way to explaining why my attitudes towards relationships are so out of sync with what's expected of me as a male.
Also, there was Robert Heinlein's "Time Enough For Love" which I read around the same time which planted the seeds of what would eventually evolve into my idea of what kind of family I want...a poly one.
4. How many people fit in your largest tub?
Well, we only have one tub and it's pretty small. I don't think it could handle more than three and that would be a tight fit (which isn't necessarily a bad thing if you're close enough friends to be squeezing into a tub together).
5. If you could live anywhere, where would you live?
Honestly, I don't know...I love everything about where I am except the lack of prospective additions to our family. I hate the idea of moving somewhere just to expand our family...there's 4 million people in this city...surely there are a few other people out there that can appreciate what this family has to offer. I just don't know where to find them.
do ya'll want to have more kids?
Yes, but not with each other. We've pretty much decided that if we have another child, it will be with someone else that we've brought into the family. Unfortunately, as much as I'd like to start working on that soon, with nil prospects at the moment that's a long way off.
Taste great, or less filling?
Tastes great.
was polyamory something that you and your wife were into before you were together, or did your (both of yours) interest develop over time? and how did the subject come up if it was something that you didn't know about each other when you 1st were dating?
When wyspurr and I got together, I was already firmly poly and told her all about it the first time we hung out. She was new to the idea, but interested. So it's something that has always been a part of our relationship dynamic.
1. How did you choose the names for your kids?
wyspurr wanted to name our first child Destiny Divine, but I talked her out of the Divine part because I thought it was retarded. Instead we gave her the middle name "Rose", after a good friend who was a significant part of our lives during wyspurr's pregnancy.
As for our second child, I chose the name Rachael and I can't tell you for the life of me why. Her middle name, Dawn, is the middle name of another beloved friend.
2. What got you into photography?
I've always loved pictures and even as barely a teenager I was an incorrigable shutterbug, taking tons of snapshots every chance I got. For the longest time my friends kept telling me I should get more serious about photography as they thought I had a good eye for it but I pretty much dismissed.
What got me into taking a higher interest in photography was when my wife and I had a girlfriend who had done some nude modelling in the past and one day we were out hiking when we were joking around and the idea hit us to do an impromptu nude shoot...the results of which can be found here. I really enjoyed it and both my wife and my girlfriend were very encouraging of me to pursue it further, though I rarely had the time to do much with it until moving to Atlanta.
3. What was the happiest day of your life (so far)?
That's pretty tough. I've had a lot of really, really happy days. Like uncountably many days where I've nearly burst from happiness. I don't think I can pinpoint a specific day.
4. Out of the places you've lived so far, what was your favorite and why?
Here...in Atlanta...in Little Five Points. I love being back in the city and having so much great stuff a short walk away. Life has been so much more pleasurable and stimulating since moving here.
5. When can we get the kids together to play? :-P
We're usually free most afternoons after 3pm or so. It'll be tricky for us to get anywhere, though, until we get our car next Monday.
What do you do for a living and why?
Well, right now I'm a baker. As for why, it's because it was the first thing I could find that I could work around my family's schedule. If I have my way of things I'll be making a living writing and publishing sometime before I die.
what is your favorite sexual possition?
saxshooter asked me this when she interviewed me, so I'll just cut and paste my answer to her.
"Call me old fashioned, but my favorite sexual position is missionary. I like being able to meet my lovers eyes or kiss her lips without having to stretch or rearrange our bodies. I like being able to concentrate on rhythm and responses without being distracted by trying to keep my balance. When I'm having sex, I don't want to have to think about anything other than her and me and what we're feeling and sharing. I'll leave the acrobatics to somebody else."
how do you be polyamourus(sp?) without jealousy and/or keeping "love" and relationships out of it? Is Poly. one-night-stands? Or is it Relationships with Couples/Singles? (I am monogamous, but quite fascinated by people engaging in Poly. :-)
To me, one night stands are swinging, not polyamory. One night stands are great, but they're a different aspect of non-monogamy as far as I'm concerned. Also for me, "love and relationships" are the point of polyamory. While my wife, wyspurr, and I enjoy sex for the sake of sex with others we are much more oriented towards forming long term connections to the people we're intimate with.
As for jealousy...jealousy certainly exists and we certainly experience it from time to time. However, as with any negative emotion, like anger or sadness, we don't let it control us. Sometimes when wyspurr stays out longer than she said she would, I get angry. Sometimes when she gets all twitterpated over a new beau I get jealous. I deal with the emotions pretty much the same...as something to talk about like reasonable, caring adults. It really doesn't affect our relationship very much at all. It's just another one of those little things a couple has to work together on dealing with.
What would be your ideal family situation? Ex: Big house, several adult parents, at least one who runs the house while the rest work.
Yeah, pretty much...though the big house would be just one of many on an artists commune. My big fantasy is getting a nice chunk of land with a family of six men, six women and bunches of podlings running around and then one by one moving all our friends onto the land in a villiage of A-Frames. Ideally it would be close enough to civilization that people could maintain jobs in the city and still be a part of society but home would be a bastion of creative, eccentric friends.
How old are you?
I'm 28, but will be 29 in June.
If you created a cult, what would you offer your members in return for all their worldly possessions?
If someone gave me all their worldly possessions and worshipped me, I'd feel obligated to be benevolent and actually care about their non-material wants and needs and try to help them find happiness.
