Hail the Hair

It's been interesting reading the comments people have made about me considering cutting my hair short. My stubborn sense of individuality will probably prevent me from actually doing so, as pretty much the only reason I'd want short hair would be because it gets a little old sometimes feeling the weight of people's superficial judgements upon me. However, actually cutting my hair short to make myself more aesthetically pleasing to the masses would be too much like letting society win.

Bringing it up, though, made me realize all over again just how much I love my hair. I remember now how aggravating my hair was when it was short because when it's short it all wants to stick up in different directions. I had to use a lot of hair styling crap to keep from looking completely retarded. I fucking hate hair styling crap.

Keeping my hair long, it's no maintanence at all. I forget sometimes that most people have problems with long hair that I for some reason am immune to. The last time I washed or brushed brushed my hair was at Fantasm a month ago...and that was just because I needed to for the process of bleaching and dying it. I only groom my hair for ultra-special occasions...yet have very little problems with tangles or such unless I fall asleep wearing a pony tail. Then I have to run my fingers through my hair for about thirty seconds to make it all better again. That's so much better than dealing with goop.

So. the hair stays. Perhaps it is foolish to resist the tide of social concensus, but I'm really lousy at being a conformist so I guess I'll stick to what I'm good at. Being me.
