"Whatcha doin' in this darkness baby
When you know that love will set you free
Will you stay in the sea forever
Drownin' there for all eternity
Whatcha doin' in this darkness baby
Livin' down where the sun don't shine
Come on out into the light of love
Don't spend another day living in the sea"

Another weekend has come and gone. Friday was uninteresting, as nobody showed up to my open invite for coffee at Aurora. I knew a Friday night wasn't the best night to get people to come out so I wasn't too surprised or disappointed. Afterwards I stayed home with the kids while Wyspurr escorted katfireblade to her modelling session.
Saturday was even less eventful with the sheer weight of tiredness and stress over the plumbing problems making me highly sedate and lethargic. I was in a real funk. On the bright side, I did put in an application with the new place opening where 9 Lives Saloon used to be, though I doubt I'll get a callback, and there's a new guy at work, John, who has enough in common with me that we can hold a conversation when we're both working in the back, which makes work a lot more pleasant.
Sunday was fun. katfireblade and I met up with stuzzy_tuscadero to see Elektra. The movie didn't suck nearly as bad as I was afraid it would, though it certainly had its weak points. However, the worst part of the movie was my dumb self leaving my Cruxshadows cap in the theater. I didn't even realize it until we were leaving The Majestic, where we had a pleasant meal after the movie. I loved that cap. Losing it really, really sucked.
Today plumbers were supposed to show up to annihilate our kitchen. They said they'd have to tear out our entire kitchen counter, jackhammer through the concrete foundation, replace a bunch of stuff, and lay new concrete. They didn't appear today, though.
holierthancow, katfireblade, and I made a trip to Little Five Pizza. I ate too much but it was a nice outing. Afterwards they went home and I meandered to Criminal Records. I ran into Juliana, which was a nice surprise. I bought a copy of the Best of +Live+ CD/DVD set, which sadly doesn't include "Where Fishes Go", one of my favorites, but I love all their stuff anyway. On the way home I bought a rose for Wyspurr and wrote her a little poem as I walked home. She was napping when I got home so I left them on the stove for her to find later. She was totally surprised. Then we made dinner together.
Life is good, even when it is being a pain in the ass.
