Di Version 2/17
wyspurr, brendastarr85, [BigBlack81], and I went to Di Version at Spring4th last night. After stopping for alcohol and Taco Bell, we made it there around 11ish. There werent a whole lot of people, unfortunately. I still had a really good time mingling with the people I already knew there but it wasnt a very good night for meeting new people.
This event had a band, which is something Ive not seen at a Spring4th event before. Coincidentally it was Helltrash, who I met at Dragon*Con 04. I still have the demo CD they gave me. The CD was actually pretty decent so I was curious to see how they were live. They gave a pretty good set, though the volume on the vocals was so low that the singer Vlixx may as well not even been there. The smoke effect was a bit much for such a small venue as well. Aside from that, though, I thought they kicked ass.
I had a bit of fun horning in on some photo shooting Elvis was doing in the dungeon room with Zhaira and another girl whose name I can never remember, at his invitation. I was pretty drunk so everything I shot came out pretty crappy, but it was fun and I think I mostly succeeded in not getting in anyones way. I really need to get some real photo shooting done when Im sober and I can find a better place to shoot than my little apartment.
Anyway, good people, good times.
