Sick, Sad Winter
I figure its about time for a real journal entry. Liam left this morning. Originally hed planned to stay through the week but with Debra and me both being sick enough that weve not been able to be very entertaining hosts it was better for him to head out a couple days early so that hed have time to visit Virginia. It was really nice to see Liam again. Hes one of my favorites and despite being sick I enjoyed his visit. I just wish wed have been able to be more energetic company and that Id actually been paying attention to stuff going on this month. Ive had my head so wrapped up in NaNoWriMo that I wasnt even thinking about what there is to do in town this month.
Mark will be leaving shortly to catch a bus out of state to see his family for Thanksgiving. holierthancow will be heading to Virginia after work to do the same. Everyone else it seems is doing their own thing. So it looks like Thanksgiving is just going to be Debra, katfireblade, the kids, and me this year. Im a little disappointed. It hardly seems worth having a Thanksgiving if youre not going to spend it with anyone you dont see on a daily basis.
At least yesterday I got to show Liam around the Little Five Points neighborhood a bit and Monday night he came with me while I taped Mark doing comedy at the Star Bar. Hopefully he had a decent enough time that it wasnt a total waste.
So now the next thing I have to look forward to as far as I know is the SGATLiens holiday party on December 10th. The one last year was great. Theres also a party going on at the House of Yes that night, but my promise to Brenda to forego any sort of debauchery until she moves here makes it pretty easy to decide which to go to. The people at the House of Yes are much naughtier people and since this year Im trying to stay nice for a change Im probably better off with the tamer but equally fun SGATLiens.
After November is over and I dont have to work on my NaNoWriMo novel Im going to desperately need some social interaction. Ive been a bit too shut in lately writing and being sick hasnt exactly helped either.
