At least I got the DVDs and VHS tapes situated and I chatted with Little Kendra on IM, which negated the need to email her. Im not a complete failure. Most of today was spent trying to sleep away a toothache, talking about relationship stuff, and trying to drink away a toothache, which Im still working on as I write this.
Its funny talking to Little Kendra on IM. For so long she has only had Internet access at work and that was only email. Now that shes going to have it at home, well be talking a lot more since Im a lot fonder of instant messaging than phoning, Brenda being the exception to that. We worked out our plans for our trip down to Tampa in the first weekend of November. Originally wed planned to leave Saturday morning, putting me in Tampa in the afternoon. However, weve changed plans to leaving late Friday night, putting me there at about seven on Saturday morning. So, that will give me a handful of extra hours to be with Brenda.
We had to cancel katfireblades birthday party on account of lacking overnight babysitting. Im really unhappy about this. I was really, really looking forward to hosting the party, but with Shannon back in Texas and Ocean and Stitch hosting the droogs from out of Asheville this weekend theres not really anyone left in Atlanta that Id feel comfortable asking to keep my children overnight. Id move it to the next weekend, but Halloween weekend is a notoriously crappy time to throw a small party as theres so much other stuff going on. Then the weekend after that is Little Kendras and my trip to Florida. The weekend after that is the Afterlife convention, if thats still on (something Im not too sure of since its website has been down for maintenance forever it seems). So, the next weekend available for a party as far as I know is the third weekend of November. Oh well. At least that gives us another month to plan.
As an aside, wyspurr has quit the Atlanta Rollergirls. Its not something that were really thrilled about, but it was just consuming too much without giving enough back. With them demanding more out of Debra attendance-wise, it was like a second job that she didnt get paid for. Its really a bummer, but just as well. I dont see the league moving in a good direction, with drama and bullshit running rampant from everything Ive heard. Its a real shame too, as it could be a really awesome sport if everything didnt seem like such a damned jumbled mess. It was getting hard for even me to stay interested despite the fact that I love derby, had both my wife and a very close friend in the rink, and enjoyed the heck out of videotaping every bout I went to. Ive pretty much decided I dont care about the rest of the season at this point.
