I haven't felt like updating. I've been too busy answering questions in my LiveJournal from my "Ask me anything" poll. I actually got some good questions this time around so I'm cutting and pasting them over here.
What are your aspects up to?
They're just kind of hanging out in my head, as usual. I keep meaning to devote some journal time to them, but it has been hard to keep them focused enough to get anything useful out of them.
Is your childhood too painful to talk about?
I don't know if painful would be the right adjective. Too strenuous might be better. Like I've said before, I have a very hard time remembering my youth and what I do remember doesn't exactly make me want to dig deeper. Some things are better forgotten, I think. I already know some really horrible things happened to me and I've made peace with that. No sense reopening old wounds.
Are you affectionate with your real world non-romantic friends?
To varying degrees. It depends a lot on the friend. I hug a lot, though I hug my female friends longer and more often because most of my male friends are straight and I don't want to make them uncomfortable or give them the wrong idea. I'm also more hesitant to be affectionate towards someone I haven't known long. It's mostly about trying to respect the comfort zones of others. I do generally only snuggle with people I find attractive, though I don't have to have any active romantic interest in them. It's mostly the not wanting to give them the wrong idea thing again.
What is your favorite sexual position?
I'm a big fan of the missionary position, to be honest. It lets me be face to face with my lover and doesn't require any tricky gymnastics. I want to concentrate on my lover, not my balance. For raw, animalistic passion there isn't any better in my opinion.
What do you look for in a potential partner?
Wow...that's a hard question to answer but I'll try:
Physically, for a pretty face and nice hair. To me, that's the most important thing to appearance since for the most part that's the part of the body I'll spend the most time looking at, even when having sex (I'm one of those weirdos that likes looking into my lovers eyes while making love). Apart from that, I tend to be more attracted to leaner (but not skinny) girls, though that's a preference, not a strict rule.
When it comes to personality, things become more complicated because I'm a complicated kind of guy. I want my partners to be adventurous but family oriented. I look for women who are outgoing enough that they have an interest in exploring the more hedonistic pleasures in life and stretching their own sense of individual self while still having her priorities firmly rooted in the best interest of the family. Basically, this family is all about pushing the envelope and blazing new trails as we create our own paradigms as both individuals and as a family. It is a family, though, which means everyone needs to be a team player because what anyone in the family does has ramifications that affect everyone else in the family. Even the children, which is why I'd never get involved with someone that my children didn't take to very well, or vice versa.
That's the big thing that makes or breaks whether someone is serious relationship material. Beyond that, I just look for an appreciation of a variety of styles of music, an enjoyment of reading and sci-fi and fantasy, a hedonistic streak, the ability to respect the spiritual and believe in the unseen, and an appreciation for nature. Also, anyone that is going to be involved with me obviously needs a very open mind.
Describe your perfect day!
* 6:00am - 7:00am - Get the kids ready for school early so we can watch some cartoons together over breakfast before they go off to the bus stop.
* 7:00am - 8:00am - Morning sex.
* 8:00am - 11:00am - Morning hike with outdoor photo shoot (reading on the drive to and from).
* 11:00am - 12:00am - Post hike sex.
* 12:00pm - 2:00pm - Writing.
* 2:00pm - 2:30pm - Pre-kids coming home quickie sex.
* 2:30pm - 3:00pm - Pick up kids from bus stop.
* 3:00pm - 4:00pm - Family trip to park.
* 4:00pm - 9:00pm - Gaming Session.
* 9:00pm - 3:00am - Party, Tribe Arcane style
* 3:00am - 5:00am - Orgy with right people
* 5:00am - 6:00am - Basking in afterglow sweaty snuggle pile conversation.
That's just off the top of my head. I'm sure I could refine it but you get the gist. I have actually managed to get everything I love to do (that I can think of at 4am) into 24 sleepless hours except for seeing a good band perform live. I figure leaving out sleep would be okay since it's not unusual for me to go a whole day without sleep and it's not like I'm ever likely to have one day like this in my life, much less two or more in a row.
As a new (and relatively like-minded) person to your journal, what is one thing you'd like me to know about you?
I don't know you well enough yet to ask a pertinent question. How about you answer a question that you *wish* someone had asked?
These two questions ultimately mean pretty much the same thing. What is something I want my readers to know about me?
I'll tell you what. I want everyone to know I have a fantastic family and I don't talk about how great Wyspurr and our two daughters are nearly enough. They are such a constant source of happiness for me that I tend to take it for granted and only talk about the things that aggravate me. They can all be a real pain in my ass, but the fact remains that they're also the best things in my life. So, if you see me grousing in here about something in my home life, please keep in mind that it's the exception and not the rule.
