New Oreleans is my new happy thought. We had so much fun and we really didn't do much more than walk around the french quarter. Getting there sucked. My mom took us to the airport, but she had a dead battery first. we flew to newark ( I hate Newark) they changed gates on us, and we missed our flight to new orleans. 7 hours in newark airport is not my idea of a good time. it was so dry there that I got a bloody nose. But we did make it and with 100% humidity upon landing, my skin stopped hurting in an hour.
Everything else was great! we found one of my former bosses at Kulture Vulture and hung out with him for a bit at the whirling durvish. went to all the voodoo shops, had great coffee, skipped bourbon street, had absinte ( almost absinthe) at the little bar in pirates alley...
we only made it to st louis #1 because they really don't like you going to the cemetaries without a tour group. ( our camera wouldn't work in the cemetary, then I left a bracelet at marie laveau's tomb and evrything was okay.)
And the biggest shocker of all.....
I have all my x-mas shopping done!

Sounds like a fun time. I went to New Orleans several years ago on one of those family trips you take in the summer. The only problem was that it rained all day, so I didn't get to walk around at all. I think we ended up going to an aquatic museum or something like that. I think I want to go back some day though. Every one I talk to says it's a really nice place to visit.
