life is a long lonely journey from death to birth.......
so saturday came and of course i went to the movies as i do every weekend. no multiplex this saturday though it was the main art theatre in royal oak. first film i saw was broken flowers with bill murray. it really fit in with some of the films murray has been doing lately, where he plays an aging man who's not really happy with his place in life. the film was very good, murray was great again. the supporting cast was top notch. the film was funny and melancholy at the same time, really worth seeing.
the second film i saw was gus van sant's last days which was loosely based on the last days of kurt cobain. excellent film and a completley fitting end to van sant's recent death trilogy. michael pitt was amazing as blake (damn he spookily looked like cobain) . the film was heartbreakingly sad as i expected, but the sense of doom throughout the entire film was nearly overwhelming. van sant shot it in the same style as elephant and gerry with long unbroken takes,a nd sparse patches of dialogue. last day's is probably the best film i've seen this year.
other than that my weekend has been pretty uneventful, this week will be agood week though i can feel it.

I have a problem with collecting books I never read and the best is I seem to only read books I've read before.
I got the bio on Amazon (impossible to find) and the novel off Ebay--also hard to find but I'm not sure why as mighty Rollins is the publisher.
the Bunny: print where? where is this image in the DVD? EvanX told me he'd never seen it before either! i found it in a film magazine!
