Hello. Glad to be back!
Just a quick one as I'm off very soon. Holidays were great and typically packed with the weirdness I come to expect from a family jaunt.
QUICK run-down. Set off to the airport. Checked in, 7 1/2 hrs of waiting later we finally took off. As we arrived in Thessalonika there was a strange tinge to the air. It started pissing it down.
By the end of the 2hr taxi ride it was like a monsoon with lightening flashing about every 6 seconds. It did this for the next 14 hrs. The road behind us apparently slipped 80ft down a cliff edge. This meant our journey home took a slight detour by ferry to the next town (about 7 miles down the coast) We arrived at the Glorious Meliton in complete darkness. It had had a power cut so we checked in by torchlight. Nice eh?
The weather was pretty shitty, but at least I could relax, regardless. Mum and Ruth were a little less accomodating.
They were using the hotel as a location for a swimwear catalogue so there were plenty of scantily clad Italian and Greek swimwear models sitting around unable to do any shoots, which was a bonus! No, there are no pics. That would be creepy. Besides, they were the rudest and most arrogant tw@s I've had the misfortune of encountering, anyway.
Theres tonnes of tedious minutia which I won't go into right now involving ferry collisions and the Russian secret service which I may cover later, time permitting. Nevertheless, I'm fully rested and anxious to catch up with you all.
Just to let you know, there are a couple of photos to give you a flavour on me photos page...
Yesterday, I discovered an American car show under the railway station carpark. Took a few pics of that too. Sorry about the colours, The halogen light were playing havok with my camera!
