Still trying...

I suppose I could update you on the Nekromatix gig?

The hospital suggested I try and do normal things for a day or two, since it wasn't likely my dad's condition was going to change. I HAD planned to go down to Leicester anyway, so I went.

Leicester's a funny little place isn't it? It's like a small town with a 'big town' label. I'd never been before. It's like a shabby version of Shrewsbury but extends into surburbia in every direction. I got the distinct impression the local folk were looking down their noses at us scruffy northerners. Hehhe, Tuff shit guys, we've come to drink your beer and puke in your side-streets... wink

The Charlotte is a reasonably nice venue, although god knows why the Nekromantix played there as one of two dates. Its TINY... Smaller than the Star and Garter by quite a lot (more attractive barstaff, though. wink ). There were FAR too many suport acts on. Most of which were rubbish. In my opinion The Mighty Hangmen and Shark Soup would have sufficed. Unfortunately Send More Paramedics (the bane of my life) were there again.. Why are they EVERYWHERE I am?

The Nekromatix were absolutely ace. The set rocked, although they looked a little fed-up over something. Despite this I DID get Kim to sign my ticket, by the merch stall, after informing him I'd earlier bought a cd AND a t-shirt. Very nice guy.

Met up with our old bass player, Craig who'd moved to Leicester. He was amazed to see us and it was nice to catch up. Don't think he has any intentions of moving back after uni. I don't blame him. Liverpool/Warrington/Runcorn seem like a crap prospect when you manage a local tv station on top of your media course. It was GOOD we managed to meet up, as it happened, because thanks to us faffing about saying our goodbyes to the bands and the nice folk in The Charlotte, we managed to miss the last chance to get the car out of the car park. For FOOKS sake! What kind of carrot crunching, cousin-marrying hick-town locks it's car parks at 1am in the city centre with NO night staff? For Gods sake! It re-opened at 6.30, leaving absolutely NO numbers or instructions as to what to do in such a situation! Utter shite biggrin
1x DEMERIT, Leciester C(o)unty Council.

Thankfully, Craig kindly offered to put us up for the night for which a golden medal of some description is in order. Actually until we see him again, we're just sending him a parcel of PROPER MUSIC to listen to in the post. It'll have to do for now.

Anyway. I'm very knackered. To-ing and fro-ing from the hospital and work and home is really taking it's toll, so I think I'll head off to bed (allowing the configurable time-zones to tell you EXACTLY when I wrote this... Yeah 9.15, lame eh?).

Thanks for the kind comments all of you. Although it's looking like there won't be much improvement in my dad's condition for a good few weeks yet, hopefuly I'll be more myself when I can adjust my routine to the late visits and weird weekends.

Loads of love all....
x kiss

Daisy Chainsaw is hard to come by 'round here. I was very lucky to find it in a used record store in Boston for $2!

p.s. if you're reffering to the tattoo on my arm, it's derived from this painting: Vena by Daniel Martin Diaz.

I really like what I've heard of them, but there's not a trace of them around here! I'll have to get their stuff online robot
