This isn't good.

Just come back from work. Fuckin' drama... Came back to find the front door in splinters and all the lights off.
The old man's been ill with very heavy flu symptoms. The district nurse came out and told him it had become a lung infection. She put him on a strong course of antibiotics, but he worsened on Monday and was taken into hospital.

Today he 'discharged' himself and came home. He managed to get into bed but apparently got up at some stage. He's blacked out at the top of the stairs (of which this house has MANY). He fell down the longest flight and whacked his head on the bureux at the bottom. There's a lot of blood. I don't quite know how long he was there for. He's still out for the count and not responding. Currently having a brain scan, but he now is suffering from PNUEMONIA and chronic dehydration. I'm really scared for him. He's a big strong bloke, but on Monday for the first time in my memory he seemed old and frail. It probably pains him more that ANYTHING to show any sort of of falibility, but yesterday it was like I was staring into his twilight years. He was disorientated and upset.

Working for his early life in Welsh leadmines makes him especially susceptible to lung problems, of which pnuemonia can be one of the most serious, barring cancer. No amount of climbing in the Himalayas later can correct the initial damage he probably did. I know he REALLY didn't need this.

All my life he's been there for me making a hell of a lot of sense. His advice has steered me well and I don't quite know what I'd do without him.

I've spoken to Mum who's totally distraught. She's coming home soon. I'd better find some way of securing the house.
