Just woken up from my Friday out with the SGUK lot! I may have been doing that All-nighter for nearly ten years but its still punishing on the old brain!!!
I *REALLY* had a lot of fun. I'm hoping that it was unanimous, since the overall feeling i got was a pretty good one! Thanks to all who were involved and made Asha and Learoy's birthday such a memorable one. It was really good to meet everyone and I don't think there was anyone in the whole group who were anything but stars... Again, thanks..
Three things gleaned though...
1.. Its time for a refurbish... I couldnt give a shit how traditional a rock venue Jilly's is, the furniture and decor is fucking AWFUL!!!
My mum and Dad used to go in the 70s and other than the murals, they described the fishbowl and main dancefloors EXACTLY... New lights..? Some WORKING tv screens again, like in the olden days!? 
And for gods sake, a better choice of tunes... Happy Hardcore should be banished to 'Scrote clubs', its NOTHING to do with ROCK!! 
2.. 'Tommy the Cat' by Primus has the best bass solo (!) in it of ANY tune EVER!!! The most unintentionally funny track they EVER did!!!
3.. Even the most turgid and dreary tunes in a *ver*y long night can be compensated for by really great company! As far as 'baptisms of fire' go theres none to forge good friendships like TEN+ hours stuck in a sweaty, pitch black room with people to get to know what they are REALLY like!! I think we passed with flying colours! We already know we have the beginnings of an enviable little social scene, over here! A few more faces, noticable by their abscence (hiya Cakemix!!!! ) and what a night we could have!?
So, London next? Looking forward to seeing you all again really soon.. Im going back to fucking bed... That was a killer....
