So my fucking girlfriend just wants me to sit around while she decides whether or not she feels like she can put the effort into sustaining a relationship. If I had any self esteem at all I would tell her to go fuck herself until she broke something, but I don't, so I just sit here, scraped red and raw and wide open, desperate because I know I will never ever again find someone as awesome as she is. I hate myself and every other fucking thing in the world. Fuck you. Fuck all of you.

I'd recommend not telling her to fuck herself. But don't go the complete other route, either. So yeah, my advice is to compromise, but err to the side of sitting around waiting.
Or go out, get drunk, and fuck her little sister.
