My house is really cold. This morning, to save trips to the fridge, I got both the coffee and the sugar out at the same time (see footnote 1), spooned coffee into the tiny little french press and sugar into the empty coffee cup right next to it, then returned both containers. I poured the hot water into my french press, then did something else for four minutes while the coffee steeped. When I returned, there were three ants on the counter, but they were all clustered around the warm french press; not one had ventured into or even seemed to give a shit about the mug that contained only sugar.

Hey, I was in the first class of NCSSM ('82) and lived in Cary and Raleigh from 87-91. Last time I went back a few years ago the roads were all crazy, renumbered and new and fucked up, and I had no idea where I was going.
