Monday
Wow!! What a weekend! It was fantastic and hectic and delicious and exciting.
Friday I was able to hang out with Kenni for a few hours, which is always fun. Then Rick called me to ask if I was interested in going up to Alexandria with his sister and her boyfriend to her boyfriend's parents' cabin friday night, come back on saturday and then go to the Great Minnesota Get Together on Sunday.
How could I say no?!
So we packed up our stuff, our four-wheeler and our Great Dane and headed up north. We stayed up drinking and driving around on the four-wheelers (I was sober). We found a family cemetery in the middle of a grazing field that was quite beautiful in the moonlight. We drove to the local bar, parked our four-wheelers next to each other between a couple cars and ate homemade pizza that was pretty damn good. As we left we waved at the local cops that were hanging out in a parking lot nearby waiting to hand out DUIs.
We woke up early the next morning, ate a pretty good breakfast then hit the water. Jetski, wakeboard and waterskiing. I water skied for the first time, I had never wanted to before because of not being able to see without my glasses and not wanting to lose them in the water...so now that I don't need them I can do whatever I want to.
After that we had a surf and turf dinner then we loaded up and headed out for a 2.5 hr drive home. The dog was passed out in the back seat. We stopped in St. Cloud for some delicious dairy queen treats, came home and passed out.
Then we woke up at about 7 on Sunday and headed down to the State Fair. After searching for street parking we finally found a spot in front of a car and behind a driveway, we had to ask the driver of the car to back up a little bit... she happily obliged...And there it is the "Minnesota Nice"
Got into the fair and rode the sky glider into the center area. We also rode the needle to get a 360degree view of the fair, st paul and minneapolis. It was very cool. Then we walked around and looked at all the different things there. And we ate... as is necessary at the State Fair, you must eat! We had chili cheese dogs, chicago dogs, chocolate dipped bacon, deep fried oreos, huge drinks, and bad lemonade! It was all the fair food you could ask for.
Then we came home to find that the dog had chewed up one of my flip flops, which isn't bad since this is the longest that we had left him out of the kennel. We ordered pizza (nothing like and 18,000 calorie day!) watched a movie and went to bed.
It was a pretty good weekend
