He sits upon the beach, a scenario that is all too familiar, yet there is a sense of surreality to it all. The surf breaks oddly. The sun isn't a familiar one, the length of shadows aren't correct. It's a bluish white, and seems swollen in the sky.
What is this place?
Nothing is coincidental. Everything is connected to something else. Multiple connections form cohesion, a web of information. There is a rhyme and a reason to the entire collection of awareness. There, however, is not always meaning. That is merely a perceptual view an individual makes. It can be called unique, and it is to the individual. Your sense of the color pink is not ours. You associate different things to it, and so do we.
Science and mathematics will continue to evolve, to grow. And in a broader sense, the frame of reference an individual can call upon, the history he has to draw from to come to a conclusion about something goes farther, deeper. In this sense, a mind can evolve. When you realize that it is not a requirement to rely on your biology to be conscious, when you find that place which is of memory and is a construct of your memory, you can then begin to build.
Look behind you. See what you have to work with.
He turns around, on his knees, feeling the grittiness of the sand beneath his palms and fingers, and looks up. There's a building, a tower that looks as if it's made of obsidian, its blackness stark against the grey-white of the alien sky.
Go there. We will continue to talk.
He sighs, shakes his head softly. It's always something, there's always something more to learn. He gets to his feet, squints as he tries to gauge the size of the tower. He starts walking.
How did I get here from there?
Do bear in mind that nothing is artificial. There are merely layers to reality. Sometimes it's possible to go sideways and gain a deeper perception of how the Universe is, what it means to exist. You know that the Universe is an extremely vast place. With this vastness is a depth, of different paths of interacting. If you yourself perceive, so you are perceived. How does the color pink perceive itself?
Hmm. Very Zen, yet there is an element of unfairness to the question, isn't there?
Indeed. It is not a rhetorical one, at least not in this context.
A soft rain begins to fall as he continues to walk. He does understand that this place is merely a way of interacting with the immense mind he is having a discussion with. Yet there is no sense of artificiality to where he is. This is not a virtual reality, but an abstraction that allows the two minds to interact. Since these interactions started, he realizes he is expecting those scenes to happen somewhat. The building approaches and he sees a doorway. It's not far now.
So, you say I can begin to build. Build what?
When you realize that space and time are merely abstractions and that its properties can be manipulated, you allow yourself to express the complete complexity of your thoughts, your perceptions. While we know you understand the lessons of benevolence naturally, you need to see why the opportunity to exploit the natural processes of the Universe in harmful ways can not be allowed to happen. You cannot prevent a sequence of events, nor can you interfere in such a fashion that allows one consciousness to benefit at the expense of another. At least not once you have attained this stage of awareness.
He pauses, lifts his head up to feel the rain falling upon his face, then enters the building. The interior is comfortably warm, lit with a soft bluish light. The lobby is on the small side, and the walls are unadorned.
Go, then. You will find you can interact with your own construct. Find where you are. It is real space, real time. And it is not. We have allowed for the natural capability that every conscious mind possesses, to detach and to observe. Even to interact. You do truly have an infinite amount of space and time. Learn a little more, explore. We realize you lack the capability for fear of your own mortality. With that comes, perhaps, a broader understanding of what it means to be self-aware. There is much more. Your journey indeed has only begun.
So she is being permitted to build. She knows what she would build, given an infinite amount of time.
Which is in and of itself and in perpetual expression more valuable than money.
