My Mother is coming down today for her weekly Sunday visit. I think she has visted more since my parents divorce (which was last Spetember for those keeping score) than in the entire 7-8 years we have lived in Manhattan. The same goes for my Father as well.

We are going out to lunch today and she is going to take us grocery shopping..........because we are poor . Although for living below the poverty line, Blossom and I manage to hide it really well. Shit, I'm getting sidetracked. Back to my story.

I talk to Mom last week on the phone and she tells me she is dating someone. I knew this would happen eventually. I didn't expect my parents to live as monks the rest of their lives (nor want them to), but it still took a little bit to wrap my mind around it. To add to the strange feelings, the guy she is dating is someone who I would have considered my Dad's best friend for most of my life. Dan moved away a few years ago, and Dad simply lost touch with him. The thing is, I really like Dan. He is a nice guy. I can't fault Mom at all for dating him. He is not a jerk, an asshole, and abusive prick, or any of the other combinations that you would have to worry about. The whole situation just feels bizzare to me, thats all.

I need to just give it a little time to get used to I think.
