Yes yes yes I AM looking for a new job. . . just not at a coffee shop.
I might very well be working at Whole Foods or New Seasons, we shall see. . . customer service still.
I just get sooooo mad at some of these asshole customers; the rude and the bitter ones, and the suits who think my job is just a peice of cake. Some guy had the nerve to say that we weren't trying hard enough. . . Oh I won't even go into that. I KNOW I bust ass.
But my main beef with the company is part of my beef with capitalism in general, with the way many people in the U.S. percieve work, leisure, and competition. We are so frowned upon for taking a freakin' day off, let alone a month for vacation. I've seen so much backstabbing and dishonesty, it disgusts me. The rampant growth, like parasites. The godawful brainwash.
But how do you fight it? How can I even speak out against it? Why don't I? I don't want to. I don't believe it is necessary or possible to change the course we have taken. You know how I feel. I am rooting for our inevitable downfall.
So given that: I should probably just quit wanking, right?Yes you're right, but I won't stop, I MUST cough up this nasty phlegm in my throat or drown in it. I will not become a bitter, rude asswipe, carrying around all this bullshit and spitting little bits through my teeth at anyone and anything that irks me. I will be kind and patient and as understanding as possible. I will only hurt those I love. he he heh.

America is a fantastic place. Where else can the guy who serves you coffee make the rough equvilant of four dollars an hour while the guy ordering the coffee heads off to an office to rack up billable hours in the neigborhood of four-hundred dollars an hour?

It makes me laugh when people explain the risk elements of captailism to me and how that justifies the offset in rewards. I like to point out how are nightclub's slowing down coming off the summer and my pay feel by about a hundred bucks a week because of schedule cuts. I'm sure not one of the owners is having any problems making their bills this month.

Ah, I bitch, but honeslty, I love captailism. And I'll love it even more if I can ever get myself one of these. Triple blacked with dub rims and tinted windows. Ah, yes.

The great thing about captailism, and one of it's few saving graces, is that you can easily jump from making a hundred and fifty bucks a week to four or five if you know where to jump. It's tricky, but captailism does often reward people who do have some drive and intelligence and- unlike communism- doesn't pretend that we're all equally incompetent and deserve to be treated the same. Captalism at least allows stand out people to be rewarded better than thsoe who don't stand out. Sadly, it also rewards those that aren't stand out but born to a family that had an extremely stand out patriarch eight hundred and a half years ago. But, what can you do?

I know your pain! I'm a Charbucks university graduate myself. Once in a while I'll have discussions with folks at work about the new Super Sprawl Mart goin in in Gresham and how much I hate that damn company and they just don't get it. Companies like that are pushing for a race to the bottom that affects everyone. One lady says she doesn't even thinks about that stuff then just spouts off some bs like, well those people in the other counries manufacturing our cheap goods need those jobs. I just had to stop the conversasion right there cause we have to work together. But I bet she would never work a full day of work for enough money to buy a bag of top ramen and a pepsi to feed her family. Anyway......hope everything else is going good.
