The most peculiar thing happened to me this morning - the girl on the bus who I dislike decided to strike up a conversation with me. Now I suppose I should elaborate on that a little so it will make sense.

I'll start by saying I hae no real reason for disliking this girl, for I had never said so much as a word to her until today. Usually I am not so quick to judge but by her manners she seemed to be quite a rude person. Usually this is simply characterized by her need to always push to the front of the line to get on the bus and to get off of it. But yesterday afternoon while waiting for the bus an elderly fellow asked her if she'd forgotten her bus ticket on the bus stop bench. Instead of a polite, "no, I have a bus pass", she simply said, "Does it look like I need a ticket?". The man went onto say that he had seen the ticket there and had just assumed it was hers as she had been sitting there. Whenever he said anything she once again said, "Do I look like I need a ticket?".

Of course, my first impression of her was completely different. I saw her on the bus one morning and, following the scent of Sunflowers by Elizabeth Arden, found her sitting there with her blonde hair shining in the summer sun. She looked absolutely radiant to me. She got off the same stop as me and I delighted that I could see her for a few more moments. She was in such a rush though, as I now know is her normal state of being on the way to and from work, and rushing has never seemed a lady=like thing to do IMO. But still, I looked for her the next day. It wasn't until autumn that I saw her again, and her rude behavior.

This morning seemed like any other. The bus wasn't too busy, and like every morning when there are a few spare seats she sat one seat away from me. (She usually sits one or two away from me, with the exeption of busier days when she usually ends up sitting right beside me.) I read my book for the whole bus ride. She interrupted me to ask me to make the call for our stop. I reached over and gave the string a quick tug. We got off the bus and she started in with her usual speed walking. But when we got to the crosswalk she slowed down. She turned to me and made a comment about the lovely weather this morning. I politely agreed. I expected the conversation to end there, you see I am not the best conversationalist in the mornings and am often seen as irritable or short. But this girl seemed determined to make small talk. She proceeded to ask if I worked in the neighbourhood. This is quite a silly question as she seems me walking to work in my icky work clothes carrying my lunch everyday. We chatted a couple minutes about our jobs until I got to the office. She continued on to the building she worked at across the street. And that was it.

I have a better opinion of her now, but still think she can be a bit rude at times. Then again, we're all a bit ill mannered every once in a while.

(Apologies for typos. This keyboard sucks and the font on this compy is small because I dont like my coworkers to be able to read over my shoulder. My "C" and "V" buttons hate me)
