Blog Homework - My Confidence Boosting Secret Weapon

This is a tough one because a lot of the time when I'm feeling down I just want to roll one and eat some snacks with my dog. For those moments where I need to get my shit together, some things must be done.

Many things can be confidence killers, not to mention I live in Hollywood so there are people constantly trying to take a shit on your self-esteem. I've come to find that comforting myself and cutting off all negative trains of though before I can even finish the sentence in my mind is best.

I've always struggled with being different - whether its my race, my size, my hair, whatever. Something is just always different. Not bad. Just different. Different does not mean bad. Telling myself that being different makes me no less beautiful is something I am sure to do every day. I read somewhere that if you list all the things you're grateful for everyday, eventually you will start to find some sort of happiness in that and actually feel more gracious, which I thought was total bullshit but its actually not. Same thing with feeling beautiful. Take a look at yourself every day. Drink it all in from the curves of your thighs to the rolls on your tummy learn to love every bit, and if you find yourself unhappy consider a change. Only if YOU see fit.

I read a book by Kimora Lee Simmons and she said "fake it til you make it." Tell yourself you I love you every single day until you mean it. Do anything and everything you have ever wanted to become the person you've always looked up to. Eventually you will, and you'll feel on top of the world. But...

Having confidence is a process. Day-to-day get yourself out of bed, stretch, put some makeup on, your favorite outfit, whatever it takes to make you feel good. Long term, take care of yourself. Set goals, do everything that brings you joy and appreciate every single little thing you encounter throughout the day. Gratitude is sexy and once you learn to appreciate all that is, eventually, you can't help but love yourself too.

Be kind to yourself,

Jimi Sin

I lived in So. Cal, back in the day. It was a skin deep culture, even back then. The good part: people who cared enough to be friends were REAL friends! - I happen to think you are one of the most beautiful, wonderful women in the world. If you ever feel down, just come to me for a boatload of affirmation.
