Interesting news.
My girlfriend has two daughters (i am 31 she is 34). I don't see much of them, really, but I see them sometimes. Apparently I have made sufficient impression on the youngest (9) that she told Carrie she was tired of her old Dad, and needed a new Dad, and that I was the candidate.
I'm not sure how her current Dad will take this, or if I am indeed ready for such a job.
