Its not the parking lots per say, its really more the bling bling cars parked in the parking lots, their owners, the system, and car retailers. If you are at a point in your life that you can be eligible for free housing how can there be a brand new SUV parked in your space. I think its ridiculous. The system makes me sick. So many hard working people walk; take Septa, bike, or drive crap cars while those who arent working can drive a brand new vehicle. I thinks its messed up. Thats all. So, its not REALLY the parking lot. Its the system, the attitudes of some of the people using the system and the stupid greedy car retailers who will give a car loan to anyone despite their credit. I wouldnt normally rant in your journal like this (especially since Ive not corresponded with you before), but you asked so I thought Id do my best to explain my thoughts. Blah blah blah

my hair came out amazing......... she blew it out straight after giving it a big cut but i don't know what'll look like/how short it'll be when i wash it/all those dang curls......
how did your clothing exchange work out?

oh my hair was black for about 2 years then I removed the colour and had it red but then enhanced it with perm dye(for about 6months)..so yeah I think my hair is sort of damaged. but honestly the last bleaching made it feel this way before it, it was fine. I learned my lesson about over processing hair though...never again. It isn't brittle yet either..so I take it as a good sign. I just hope my pink/purple get to me soon so I don't have to look like a canary.

I'm all about outward anger...people actually avoid me when I'm really pissed off.

We actually have the Kwiki mart set. Its funny. But its so sad because we never use them anymore, they just sit and collect dust.

I'm trying to find craft shows but boy oh boy, is it harder then I thought. And this is prime selling season. Blah.

You're right, most of the films and stories I've seen and read about LV specifically showcase desperate people in desperate situations. Whether it's drugs, or gambling, or crime, or sex, or whatever....any city has people in similar states of distress - LV isn't that special or different. For some reason, however, they're usually set in LV and it doesn't really paint a rosy picture of the overall quality-of-life there, you know? But like you said, if it sucks you can leave. I'm jealous of you for having an occupation that allows you to do that. I wish you all the best when you do move. I hope it's even better there than you think it is.

BTW - you should read the book "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas." Don't just rely on the movie - the book is eighty zillion times better.....and that's A LOT.

Oh...right...uh, my recent move. I'm here not because I WANT to be here but because the job is here. It's exactly what I want...it's almost perfect. Almost. The major negative is that it's here in Wheeling, WV. However, putting in my time here will allow me in about 3-5 years to transfer to a similar job in a place I'd want to live in long term. Maybe back to Philly...maybe on to Seattle or Ann Arbor or Boston or Portland or Minneapolis, I don't know. But this will get me there. And so I'm willing to have an awesome job that I love in a pretty crappy part of the world if it brings me that much closer to where I want to be.

At least, that's what I keep telling myself over and over when I lie in bed staring at the ceiling trying to get some sleep.

I want to know what magazines don't suck! I used to like reading 'em and looking at the cool art, etc. But now the only cool thing I can find is zines. Juxtapose sometimes. . .
