More info about my hermit colony, in a discussion on MSN.
Me: Well, we'll live in a group of caves near some springs with a bunch of goats. The goats will eat the grass and we will eat berries and drink goat milk. We'll make clothes out of their fur and that's all we need.
Web: Only berries?
Web: Can we have gardens, for supplmentation?
Web: Also hunting.
Me: Yes, the carnivores can have their meat. But no guns. And we could have gardens, but only if the goats don't eat them. We'd probably all have to vasectomies/hysterectomies first or no sex would be allowed...
Web: Hah.
Web: I'd have to learn bow-arrow technique.
Web: What will you veggies live off of?
Me: The berries, vegetables, and milk.
Web: Where are you gettin the veggies

Me: What?
Web: I dunno.
Web: I think we should grow a variety of tubers and squash things.
Me: Yes, those will be in the garden too.
Web: What are the goats going to live off of?
Me: Grass and water.
Web: I mean, is our area going to be able to sustain them?
Me: Like I said, yes.
Web: Will they be free-wandering?
Me: No, or they'd get into the garden.

I'd recommend sheep though, nicer milk, better fur
