****update 8:43pm below on a topic i'm probably going to start in the hopefuls section (not just hopefuls only)****
So what a lovely thing to find out on the most stressful day I have had in weeks.....the majority of staff photogs got fired, including my favorite person on the face of the planet ScottSmallin.
Not to mention...Lorelei as well. WTF
Fucking glorious.
Really starting to think this whole SG thing is just going to become a memory here soon for me. More and more things keep taking place that give me an extra reason to not put in the time.
Anyway.
So I've been waiting patiently for unemployment to get into my account. Well I called earlier this week, like Monday, and they said "oh check your account Wednesday it'll be in there." So I waited, and well all yesterday and even until 3am this morning no fucking unemployment money went into my account. So I called....sat on hold for a total of 1 hour and 35 minutes. Never talked to anyone other than the moron who answers and immediately puts you on hold.
So I drove there. Well it turns out, they never fucking released payment!
The woman says "there are no certifications here"
I said "well I've already turned in like 3...."
woman: "oh you must be a student."
me: "yes that's what I opened my claim as.
woman: "well I only have 2 certifications here, one for the 5th and one for the 19th"
So that means they're fucking missing one of my certifications. So that means, I'm turning in THREE this week. Because one, at the end of the month, has to be signed by one of my professors. I find that to be a violation of privacy. Especially considering I go to a school where 80-90% are all normal students and the rest are non-traditional like myself. I already feel like I'm in high school again when people make snide remarks about my tattoos. Fucking people.
And it also doesn't help that right now I have $1.44 in my bank account. My cell phone has been suspended. My power might get shut off. Ugh.
I just can't wait for the day, that only getting paid once per month is not what I'm dealing with any longer!
Anyway. I decided, regardless of what anyone tells me, I'm getting an Equine Sciences degree.
It's what I love. And as much as I love writing, maybe I can combine the two together and do photojournalism and shit on the side of training horses and stuff. As supplemental income. I by no means wish to be rich. Money only stresses me out. I just want to make enough to support a healthy lifestyle for me and a healthy lifestyle for my horses.
With that said, I also made the decision to go ahead and adopt out the Pitbull Evie....I don't want to, but since I decided that I will probably have a roommate this time next year. Two dogs is too much, especially if they're both mine. I know I would feel kind of awkward, especially since they're big.
Deciding to get a roommate is NOT at all what I want to do, but I'm hoping this weekend, if I promise to do everything I have written out for my grandpa as reasons to buy me a horse, he'll get me a horse and then I'll be at home basically to eat, sleep, shit, study, and take care of Marley. The rest of my time will be spent at the barn or at school.

Hello ladies.
So I understand that there's a lot going on right now with the staff photograpers stuff and while all of us are pretty fucking upset about what's going on, the best way is to let staff know our feelings.
I decided to start this thread, not as a smack in the face to staff or their decision necessarily...but more to stage a coup.
With the letting go of staff photographers having been so drastic, the South and Southeast are left with NO photographers within a reasonable amount of distance. I understand that there are other states who also don't have photographers and countries who don't, but the south finally started showing their skin and I feel as though there are more Hopefuls for the south now than in the 3 years since I've been on SG. (I can only speak for the south since I am a southern Hopeful)
With that said.
I personally know Scott as well as MANY other Hopefuls and SGs and all I've ever heard is how "he's got that southern charm" and "I felt so comfortable around him." As well as many other things. Personally knowing him, he always got me amped up about brianstorming ideas for sets and is always supportive and I love his work both with SG and his professional life outside of SG.
With that said, I really do feel that ScottSmallin should be reinstated as a Staff Photographer.
(as a side note. this is not to be rude or insulting to any other photographers who got let go. Lorelei is amazing and also deserves her spot back, but I just know Scott on a personal level.)"
