Hello from Riga, capital of Latvia...
I'm having a nice holiday here with my friends - I don't speak Latvian, but I enjoy this place all the same. It's a beautiful city with lovely girls around every corner.
They've had independence from Russia since 1991, but almost half of the people here are Russian. There's a great beach on the Baltic Sea with bars and discos; sadly, it only stays open till sunset (which is about 10:30pm).
People are generally friendly and willing to speak English. From here, we'll go back the way we came: Vilnius in Lithuania, then Warsaw to Krakow in Poland. Tuesday I fly to London and Wednesday I return home to Seattle.
These 4 weeks have gone far to quickly: Spain, Morocco, one week in Krakow, then Lithuania and Latvia. We meant to get to Tallinn in Estonia, but just didn't have the time or energy.
