I wrote this in my personal journal last night.

Glacier bay Alaska. This is a place that everyone should see at some point in their lives. We move at eighteen knots through this sanctuary so as to minimize the noise we make and avoid disturbing the wildlife. I took the time to go out on the bow last night and again today. I hadnt really prepared myself for what I would see out here. When I looked at the glacier we pulled along side today, I was simply lost for words. A mountain of white and blues laced with earthy tones from the mountain. I felt so insignificant as I contemplated the slow steady and unstoppable advance of the ice. Hearing the thunder as the ice cracks building anticipation before dropping a part of its self in to the deep. With that a journey begins. No one can know where it will wind up. Somehow I see this as oddly fitting.

The rest of the bay is along the same lines. Nothing Ive ever seen could prepare me for what Im witnessing here. Walls of rock carpeted in a blanket of green. Untouched by mans hands. Un-tread mans feet. Crowned in white that traces its way lazily down these ancient faces. Hundreds of lacy pearl trails becoming water falls before rejoining the sea.

I am realy glad I took this job. I miss you all, but I am realy glad I took this job.

I'll see you all at the end of june.
