OK... this confused me a little... I was still up at 7 this morning... that of course is not the confusing part. I had just come in from shoveling the driveway (and the neighbours d.w... and their neighbours d.w. It felt good to shovel I guess) and I turned on the T.V. According to various morning news shows the top stories of the morning were:
a/ Brittiny gets married to friend as prank... gets it annuled next day.
b/ CrocHunter dangles baby in front of crock from balcony... (sorry wrong story but considering all the M.J. footage they were showing it's no wonder I was confused)
Is there nothing more important going on in the world then these stories... I don't actually give a shit about this stuff. These people have very little impact on my life but I'm force fed enough info so that I begin to believe I actually care. It's a media bombardment to make us forget that there is a real world with real people outside the 32 inch box of moving pictures and 5.1 surround sound that we as a society plug ourselves into each night. Why does one care that the entire world is going to shit when the CAST of American Idol is walking a red carpet to see the newest Bennifer bomb. I admit I'm just as guilty as the next person but every once in a while something happens that wakes me from my 30 frames/second induced coma. There is a lot going on in the world that is overshadowed by Paris Hilton's sex scandles. If you are upset about the world you don't want to buy that new lipstick... or that new type of paper towel... new dishes... computer... car... couch... pre-packaged meat product. Be calm... Don't think... Relax... mmmmm... new kind of cookies... those sound good. I'm going to avoid pointing out any Media/Millitary/Industrial Complex connection so I can continue to enjoy this site but we need to be made aware that we ARE NO LONGER THINKING FOR OURSELVES. Avoid controversy. Lull into false sence of security. Make the public more conserned with pop stars than earthquakes. I really only seem to be able to take the BBC serious these days. In conclusion... Pay attention and you will see how your T.V. lies to you.
