Well it's been an entertaining couple of weeks. We were just on the road to the hospital (so I could get my tonsils out) and I got a phone call. It was the job I had been waiting for... they wanted to know what my pay expectations were. I told them and they said they'd get back to me with an offer by the end of the week. Well, I survived the surgury... It was quite sureal... I'm lying on the table and then I felt this faint tingling in my feet and... black. Lost time. I had no recollection of anything until I woke up. They put me in ICU because they were worried about someone with sleep apnea being under anesthesia. So I spent my first night enjoying the IV painkillers and feeling like quite the poser as all these really sick people got sicker around me. Coughing and beeping and code blues... Thank goodness I was so out of it or man that would have been a long night. The (male) nurse assigned to watch me just wheeled up a TV and watched the Basketball game for most of the night... which really didn't bother me a bit.
Anyway... I'm tired of typing so to make a long story short... I'm a bad patient and I fought with my mother until my GF took me in and then I was grumpy with her until we stopped talking and then I finally went home... my cat was glad to have me back and now that my throat is considerably better... everyone is happy.
I no longer have tonsils (although I still have a sore throat)... I no longer snore (although I lost my uvula in the operation so my vibrato is waaay off)... I pushed for more money from the company and I got it... so today I turned in my signed contract. Good job... GREAT money... full benefits... I'll be working in the new year and I just have to survive until then. Let the sun shine in.
