I'm in a very latin mood today. I saw Frida last night on DVD. Loved the mexican folk songs. I've always loved traditional mexican and spanish music. I'm half Spanish (probably Basque).
I spoke with my cousin-in-law, who is from Chiapas, about her knowledge of Frida and what she thought of the film. Boy did that open a can of worms. She says that everyone loves Frida Kahlo but that Salma Hayek, who comes from the next town over from hers in Chiapas is a bitch, and acts like a "big shit" on Mexican television, snobby.
Oh well, I thought Salma did an excellent job in the role and she's still some of the best eye candy in hollywood. So I just laughed with my cousin-in-law and we kept drinking our rum. She's going to help me with my English and I'm going to help her with her Spanish. Oops, that's the other way around. ha ha.

i never saw frida. and i wouldn't know who salma hayek is unless i saw a pic of her. im terrible when it comes to popculture. heh.
