Yes, i admit, my tase in music is superb and boundless. I have had some gecko inquiries so here's the spiel!
I got 2 leopard gecko juviniles in early fall 2004. I named the more agressive one Titus ( as in shakespier's early play Titus Andronicus) and the more passive one Walter Hume (as in David Hume the philosopher, but Walter sounded better than David to me). At first i thought they were both male, then I thought they were both female. Once I was cleaning out Hum's cage and put it in with Titus. When I came back into the room Hume bit Titus and I freacked out. Turns out Hume was a male and was trying to mate! He was kinda ansy after that, but he's calmed down now. I Don't want to breed leo's though, everyone elce already does and incubators are expensive.
About mid winter I heard that satanic leaftailed gecko's were no longet being imported because the native population was in trouble. I had been thinking about getting a few to have for a breading colony and that made the need more imidiate. They are already expensive little buggers and with their new found rarety their price might be to high by the time i was ready to invest in them. So i jumped on it and got 2 males and 1 female and I love them! I named the female persephony (like the greek myth ov persephony and the pomegranite in Hades), the larger male i named Odin One Eye (who's king of the Norce gods) and the smaller male Sitting Leaf. There is so much color variation between each indevidual and their eyes are crazy! There's a reason their called "satanic's", their so tiney and evil looking. Unfortunately they are not at all sociable with humans, so I never get to play with them like the leo's. They never attempt to bite but they are great jumpers and you can tell that they'd rather be sitting on their lief or whatever. Their also nocturnal to the point where they don't move during the day, I'm not kidding, they don't move. but the crickets are always gone in the morning so I know they are active at night, I just never see them. Thinking of getting night vision goggles or something.
As you can see I can go on and on about these little ones, I'd love to answer more questions. Just remember I'm not the ultimate authority, I just know what I know from experience and the internet and I've only had these guys for about 1/2 a year at most. But I'm thinking of getting a bearded dragon over spring break! I'll tell you all about it later. - una
