Well I guess it's that time. Unfortunatly the picture train has left the station so we're back to boring black and white journal entries. Also, since I'm in school I have no time to do fun things to report on. Psyche!! I have been getting into rocks. I find this exciting though you may not, I'm a NERD! and I love it.

Rhodochrosite is the most recent addition. The three pebbles I have look alot like the picture, except one which is a little irridescent.

Chrysocola is what started this whole fasination. I found a large piece of it cut into an egg shape and couldn't leave the store without it. It looks like a planet that you're looking dow non from the stars.

Ruby Ziosite came after the chrysocola. I've been carrying the pieces in my satchel with me almost dailly. I have three pebble sized pieces.

Obsidian was aquired the same day as the ruby ziosite - agian three small pebbles of it.

I've been looking into their meanings and uses too - fun stuff, for sure. But school work is taking presidence frown poo on that.

Rocks are pretty cool, I've collected them...well since childhood. Only later did I get into their meanings, and the power you can tap from them. My personal favorites are Moldavite, and Lapis Lazuli.

Moldavite:

Form of Tektite. Made when meteorite hit the earth thousands of years ago,...it's getting very rare, as it is only found in a small region of Russia. Said to have links to extraterrestrial energies and will greatly enhance the power of other stones. Brings you into communication with your higher self. (some random web page since I was too lazy to look up in my library of reference books)

Lapis Lazuli:

Here is some cool info:
As inscribed in the 140th chapter of the Egyptian Book of the Dead, lapis lazuli, in the shape of an eye set in gold, was considered an amulet of great power. On the last day of the month, an offering was made before this symbolic eye, for it was believed that, on that day, the supreme being placed such an image on his head. (Wikipedia)
And here is the Roman take on Lapis:
The Romans believed that lapis was a powerful aphrodisiac. In the Middle Ages, it was thought to keep the limbs healthy, and free the soul from error, envy and fear. (Wikipedia)
My Lapis Scarab ring:
